How to get your BrainVision Analyzer ready for home office

Covid-19 Response Tips for BrainVision Analyzer users

As countries around the world respond to the COVID-19 situation, many universities and research institutions are closing their doors temporarily and researchers having to work remotely or from home.

Since this makes EEG recordings in the lab rather difficult, now might be the perfect time to analyze your EEG data or explore some new analysis techniques that you have always wanted to try!

We at Brain Products want to offer the same high-quality support to our customers as always, so that you can continue your research activities during these difficult times.

Therefore, we would like to provide you with some tips that might help get your BrainVision Analyzer 2 ready for home office

Tips to get ready for home office

Dongle Label Number

  • Single user license dongles – with labels starting with U, URA, VURA or VA followed by 5 digits – are local licenses. These dongles are not suitable for remote work.
Please consider taking your local license dongle home if your university needs to close.
  • Network license dongles – with labels starting with N followed by 5 digits – can provide a floating license to every Analyzer PC inside their network. Hence, if you can establish a VPN connection between your PC and your institute’s network, you can access a license from home. Talk to your IT department if they can support you with VPN access.
  • Network license dongles can serve both as local and network license. If you are the only person who would use this dongle, you could simply take it home for local use.

Please also take a look at our documentation on Analyzer 2 license dongles, which is available here.

If you have further questions or other ideas how you want to use your network license from home, please do not hesitate to contact our Scientific Support team. We are happy to help where we can and discuss possible options with you.

When you contact us, please make sure to mention the label of your license dongle in your email.

Thank you and stay safe!
